The ChargePoint Home Flex has been our daily driver for over 12 months. At ~$549, it is the most expensive charger we recommend, but after a year of daily use, we can confidently say it earns that price.

Charging Performance

At 50 amps, the Home Flex delivers approximately 37 miles of range per hour — the fastest home charging speed available. Our Tesla Model 3 Long Range goes from 20% to 80% in about 4.5 hours, and from 10% to 100% in about 7.5 hours.

The adjustable amperage (16A to 50A) is useful if your electrical panel is constrained. You can set it to 32A or 40A to work with smaller circuits, then upgrade later when your electrical capacity allows.

Charging has been completely reliable over 12 months. Not a single interrupted session, no overheating shutdowns, no errors. It just works, every single night.

App Experience

The ChargePoint app is the best in the home charger category. Key features we actually use:

• Scheduled charging — Automatically starts charging during off-peak hours (10 PM to 6 AM for us). Saves about $25/month on our time-of-use rate plan.
• Energy tracking — Shows kWh consumed and estimated cost per session, per week, and per month. After 12 months, we know exactly what our home charging costs.

• No power sharing — Unlike Wallbox, ChargePoint does not offer power sharing between multiple units
